MINNEAPOLIS, MN (WTVB) – The Minnesota Twins held on despite a pair of big homers from Miguel Cabrera in a 7-6 win over the Detroit Tigers at Target Field Wednesday night.
Jake Cave homered twice and Eddie Rosario added a two-run shot for Minnesota. Kenta Maeda struck out nine over six innings of three-run ball to get the win.
Cabrera launched three-run homers in the sixth and ninth innings to get Detroit close. Casey Mize couldn’t make it out of the fifth, allowing six runs to take the loss for the Tigers.
Detroit opens their final series of the season tonight in Kansas City. Michael Fulmer gets the start for the Tigers while the Royals send Kris Bubic to the mound.
