BEIJING (Reuters) – China’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday it had lodged a formal complaint with the United States about the upcoming visit of U.S. Undersecretary for Economic Affairs Keith Krach to Chinese-claimed Taiwan.
China has lodged “stern representations” with Washington and would respond as needed depending on the situation, spokesman Wang Wenbin told reporters in Beijing, without giving details.
Krach is due to arrive in Taipei late on Thursday afternoon.
