DETROIT, MI (WTVB) – After making the playoffs and winning the NFL North Division title in 2018 at 12-and-4, the Chicago Bears slipped to 8-and-8 last season. Chicago will kick off this season against the Lions Sunday at Ford Field.
Mitchell Trubisky is back as the starting quarterback, although the Bears traded for Nick Foles as Plan B. Detroit went 3-12-and-1 last season.
The Lions used the third-overall pick in the draft on Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah to shore up a porous defense. Matthew Stafford is entering his 12th season as the Detroit quarterback after being picked first overall in 2009, but the Lions are 0-and-3 in the playoffs during his tenure. Injuries limited him to just eight games in 2019.
The Lions have lost four straight to the Bears.
