ZEELAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Two more local public school districts began classes on Tuesday.
Students had in-person instruction in the West Ottawa and Zeeland districts, joining Holland and Hamilton, who had begun classes last Wednesday. With safety measures in place due to the COVID 19 outbreak that closed classrooms statewide in March, administrators such as Zeeland Superintendent Cal DeKuiper need to be agile and flexible as conditions could change suddenly at a moment’s notice.
“Let’s just get used to knowing that we’re going to tweak things,” he said on “WHTC Morning News” during a Tuesday interview. “Our goal as a school district is that we’re going to watch what works well, and those things that don’t seem to be working all that well, we’ll tweak them. The key word is ‘listen.’”
Fennville and Saugatuck schools are set to begin classes next Tuesday.
