HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Goog’s is Gone.
The owners of the “pub and grub” on Holland’s East Side took to a Facebook post on Thursday morning to announce, “Effective immediately, we are closing down. We are going to undertake a project and will be back at some point in some manner.
“Thank you for your support over these 18 years. We have met a lot of people, made a lot of friends, and had a lot of fun…and cooked a few burgers.
“Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause anybody. See you down the road…”
The owners then added this note: “No, this is not COVID related.”
The closing came less than a month after Goog’s had to close on a Saturday, August 1st, due to road work on Hastings Avenue that blocked off the only entrance to the restaurant. The eatery had been closed due to the COVID 19 restrictions from March through June 8th, although it did offer a take-out menu during that time.
Goog’s had been open since 2002 and moved to its current location three years later.
