HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Burglars attempted to get into Graafschap Hardware early Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, but — according to police scanner chatter and a social-media post by store officials, thieves left empty handed.
The Graafaschap post included a surveillance video, and this text:
“We had some late night shoppers last night. Please let Allegan County Sheriff’s Department know if you have any helpful information! Nothing was stolen, our security did its job. To the fella with the sledgehammer, you dropped your phone, call Allegan County Sheriffs department to get it back!”
The black-and-white video shows at least four individuals, each wearing hooded sweatshirts and facemasks, crossing in front of the surveillance camera toward the shop.
A few minutes later, they rush back to the vehicle and take off.
WHTC has emailed questions to Allegan County Sheriff’s officials about this incident.
Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Allegan County Sheriff’s detective or Silent Observer, (800) 554-3633.
