HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A beach-hazards statement is in effect from 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2020, thought Saturday morning, according to National Weather Service meteorologists. The applies to the following counties: Allegan, Ottawa, Muskegon, and Van Buren.
This means dangerous swimming conditions created by high-wave action and strong currents.
These currents can pull swimmers into deeper water. High waves can sweep people off piers, with the north piers being the most dangerous — that includes at Holland State Park, Muskegon State Park and South Haven’s north beach..
People, including experienced swimmers, should not go into the water. Beaches may be closed for public safety.
