ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — In effort to increase COVID-19 testing across Allegan County, the Allegan County Health Department (ACHD) is partnering with the Michigan National Guard to test community members in Allegan County.
This free drive-thru event is to provide an opportunity for individuals to be tested even if they are not showing symptoms.
Individuals must be over the age of 18 to be tested. No doctor’s note or pre-screening is required.
The Allegan County Health Department will host this event on Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the parking lot of the Human Services Building, located at 3255 122nd Avenue in Allegan.
A translator will be on site and available as needed.
Individuals in need of transportation to this event can call Allegan County Transportation (ACT) at 269-673-4229.
Request transportation to COVID-19 testing event by 12 p.m. on Friday to secure a ride. There is no charge for requests going to Human Services Building.
Anyone who is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, or shortness of breath should seek testing as well as those working with the public, living in congregate living facilities or those who may have potentially been exposed.
Drive-thru testing is also available at InterCare Community Health Network in Pullman on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Testing is also available at the COVID-19 Community Testing Events on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Citizens do not have to be an InterCare patient and do not have to bring a lab order to be tested. For more information about whether or not you should be tested, please call the ACHD COVID-19 Hotline at 269-686-4546.
