HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — An 89-year-old Grand Haven woman was hurt in a single-vehicle crash, just after noon on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike VanDenBosch.
Police on the scene learned she’d been backing out of a private driveway on the 15000 block of Robbins Road in Grand Haven Township, but pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
That error sent her 2005 Mercury Montego backwards, into a tree on some private property across the street.
She went by LIFE Ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries. Grand Haven Township firefighters assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
