HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 48-year-old Coopersville woman on a motorcycle encounters a deer at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020 — she ended up getting an ambulance ride to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sykes.
The crash happened on Cleveland Street near 80th Avenue in Polkton Township. Witnesses told police the woman was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson east on Cleveland when a deer jumped into the path of the motorcycle. They collided. The crash threw the woman off the motorcycle and onto the shoulder of the road, police said.
She had been wearing a helmet and it appears her injuries are non-life-threatening, according to police.
