HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – There were some anxious moments at a financial institution on Holland North Side, with one woman in custody.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Brad Bennett, a 49-year-old Holland Township woman walked into the United Federal Credit Union branch on Riley Street shortly after it had opened on Wednesday morning. Deputies were called to the scene on a report that the woman had been “threatening employees with a large knife,” Bennett said in a statement. “Deputies … were able to locate and apprehend the suspect. No one was injured during the incident, and the (branch) was in ‘lock down’ for a short period of time during this incident.”
The unnamed woman is in the Ottawa County Jail awaiting arraignment in Holland District Court as the matter remains under investigation.
