HAMILTON, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Not even restrictions from “Stay Home, Stay Safe” and “Safer at Home” can apparently prevent a Hamilton family from having a new home built for them.
A Monday evening “Wall Raising Celebration” is planned for Julie Cadman and her four children by Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity. The agency, thanks in large part to a gift from the Edna Haworth Trust, is able to begin building the home for the single mother and her children, but is still looking for an additional $50,000 to complete the project.
The effort is among several that Lakeshore Habitat has tried to maintain during the three-plus months of the COVID 19-created restrictions in Michigan.
Agency staffers will be on hand at the site, in the 3500 block of Fairlane Drive, to accept donations for the project on Monday, from 11 AM to 5:30 PM, ahead of the 7 PM festivities.
