OLIVE TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Ottawa County government is now open for business.
The county never really closed during the COVID 19 outbreak, but in-person services were suspended for health reasons in conjunction with Governor Whitmer’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” and “Safer at Home” executive orders. On Monday, those wishing to deal with county courts and departments face-to-face can do so, but only via appointment, according to Clerk and Register of Deeds Justin Roebuck.
“There’s still a lot that you can do online, and through the mail as well, so don’t feel like you have to come and see us” he said on “WHTC Talk of the Town” during his monthly appearance last Wednesday, “but we do want you to feel comfortable and safe when you are there, so this appointment structure allows us to keep the appropriate distancing in the office, you got a clean space when you get here, and we’ll definitely get you taken care of. We’re looking forward to seeing our customers.”
