The suspect went back into his apartment after the incident, and police surrounded his building until he peacefully surrendered.
The victim, taken to Holland Hosital, was treated for two stab wounds, one to the chest, the other to his upper left arm, police said. The suspect also went to Holland Hospital for an general evaluation, according to police.
Alcohol may have been a factor in the incident. While police said the two men were aquaintances, a relative of the stabbing victim said they did not know one another, and that the victim was visiting a relative who lives in the same building as the suspect.
Holland police at the scene included tactical officers, the command center and the department’s armored vehicle.
