HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 34-year-old Holland woman suffered a serious leg injury in an overnight boating incident on Lake Macatawa.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies, called to the scene near South Shore Drive in Park Township, learned that a 37-year-old person was piloting a 12-foot hard-bottom inflatable boat, but lost control of the outboard motor.
That caused the boat to turn sharply, throwing those aboard into the water.
The motor’s propeller hit the Holland woman’s leg. Everyone in the water was able to get back into their boat, and to shore.
The Holland woman went by Aero Med to Spectrum Health Butterworth in Grand Rapids.
Park Township firefighters assisted at the scene.
