EDITOR’S NOTE: The event times for Friday and Saturday have been corrected.
HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The 2020 Ottawa County Fair is canceled.
The fair association board of directors made the decision during a meeting this week.
In a statement emailed to media, fair officials noted the decision “was not made in haste and we included input from many of our vendors, grandstand events, and our carnival, along with many discussions with the (Ottawa County) Health Department.”
The Ottawa County Fair founded in 1959, aims to be a fun family event for people of all ages. The directors’ announcement included a note that they are now working on the 2021 fair and fall events.
A Fair Food Drive-in is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2020. Six vendors will sell traditional fair food. Everyone must stay in their cars; masks and social-distancing are required, and transactions will be cash only.
