HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 21-year-old Allendale Township man landed in the hospital after crashing a 2008 Chevy pickup truck early Saturday, May 30, 2020.
Police were summoned to the crash scene, at Lake Michigan Drive near Rosewood Avenue in Allendale Township at 5:53 a.m. The truck had hit several mailboxes on the south side of Lake Michigan Drive, crossed the median, hit a tree and stopped in the westbound lanes of the road, police said.
The driver went by Life Ambulance to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved and no one else was hurt in this incident, Sparks said. Police closed the westbound lanes of Lake Michigan Drive for about 90 minutes for the crash investigation and debris removal.
Alcohol may be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation, Sparks said.
