HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Official gatherings in Hamilton are canceled for 2020, but the annual Memorial Day Service of Remembrance at Riverside Cemetery will honor those veterans buried at Bentheim, Brookside, Diamond Springs, Oakland, Overisel & Riverside Cemeteries.
Official parade organizers shared a YouTube video of the Memorial Day Roll for this year.
An unofficial Memorial Day vehicle-only parade is set to line up at 7:30 today at Hamilton Middle School, rolling off at 8 a.m., taking M40 south to the Veterans Memorial for a 9 a.m. prayer service. They’re asking parade participants to stay in their vehicles.
Organizers say no protesters will be allowed in the line-up, keeping the focus on veterans’ sacrifice. Donations for Hamilton’s Memorial are encouraged; checks can be made out to Allegan County Community Foundation.
Holland VFW Post 2144’s Memorial Day ceremony will be lived stream at 11 a.m. Monday, May 25, 2020.
