HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The flood warning for the Grand River, especially in Robinson Township, is extended through Wednesday, May 27, 2020, according to National Weather Serivce meteorologists in Grand Rapids.
Flood stage is 13.3 feet; water was well over 14 feet Tuesday, and the river is expected to crest late tonight through tomorrow morintg. It could reach as high as 16 feet before ebbing.
The puts Vanlopik Avenue under 2 to 3 feet of water. Residents living east of the road can expect moderate flooding, similar to that of Feb. 26, 2018.
Ottawa County officials declared a state of emergency on Sunday, May 17, and have already made one round of damage assessments. A second round of inspections is set for Saturday, May 23.
