HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The number of COVID-19 cases in Michigan is higher by 638 as of Sunday afternoon to 51-thousand-142. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is reporting just eleven new deaths for a total of four-thousand-891 and recoveries statewide stand at 28-thousand-234. The number of new deaths is the lowest it’s been for a single day since March, but not every local health department releases those numbers on Sunday.
Three of those deaths were Ottawa County residents — a woman in her late 70s; a woman in her 60s; and a male in his late 60s, according to county health officials, who say all with underlying health conditions.
As of Sunday, 610 people are known to be infected with the virus, more than 40 are hospitalized, and 177 are considered recovered.
Allegan County health officials report 180 positive COVID-19 cases, with 29 people having probable cases and 14 waiting on test results. The virus has killed two Allegan County residents to date.
There are a total of 78 Allegan County residents are considered recovered.
