HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A 27-year-old Byron Center woman died in a Salem Township traffic crash just after 5 p.m. Tuesay, May 12, 2020.
Allegan County Sheriff’s Lt. Brett Ensfield said the woman died as she was headed east on 144th Avenue in a Jeep and failed to stop at a two-way stop sign at the intersection of 30th Street.
Her Jeep hit a northbound semi-tractor trailer, sliding under the trailer. First responders found her dead at the scene.
The semi-tractor trailer driver did have physical injuries. The victim’s name is being withheld, pending family notification.
Wayland EMS, Salem Township firefighters, and Michigan State Police assisted at the scene.
