GENEVA TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A South Haven area man is facing multiple charges for slashing car tires and breaking windows at an ex-lover’s home.
Van Buren County Sheriff deputies responded to a residence in the 68,000 block of County Road 380 near County Road 388 in Geneva Township around 11 p.m. Monday after the caller said their ex-boyfriend was on scene causing a disturbance.
The suspect had slashed a total of eight tires on two separate vehicles, smashed two car windshields with a long metal rod, and shattered a window at the home.
Authorities apprehended the 27-year-old man and found him to be in possession of unprescribed controlled medications, as well as property of the victim that was stolen earlier in the day. They also located a loaded 9mm handgun in his vehicle and the knife used to slash the tires.
The ex-boyfriend is now in custody for carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession, malicious destruction of property, and for larceny charges.
