HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Some additional financial help for businesses in the heart of the Lakeshore’s two largest cities is now available.
Grants for up to $10,000 will be awarded from a $150,000 “Holland-Zeeland Downtown Relief Fund” that aims, according to Caroline Monahan of the Michigan West Coast Chamber, to combat community deterioration by assisting small restaurants and retailers that have experienced a financial hardship and lack of resources to operate as a result of COVID 19.
“They are just meant to supplement what people, hopefully, have been able to receive from other types of aid resources,” she said on “WHTC Morning News” during a Friday interview. “We really are focusing on making sure that our downtowns stay strong, and in helping them as much as possible.
The fund was established by the Chamber in partnership with the “Now the Next Fund” of the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area. There is a May 18th filing deadline, and all applications will be vetted by the chamber and local business leaders. More information is here.
