OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Four suspects are in custody and one is at large after an attempted break-in at a sports store in Oshtemo Township.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff deputies were called to D&R Sports Center on West Main Street near North 6th Street around 2:45 a.m. Thursday for a breaking and entering report. There they spotted the suspect’s vehicle fleeing the scene.
Authorities launched a pursuit that led into Allegan County. That’s when an Allegan County deputy used stop sticks to disable the vehicle.
Three suspects were immediately arrested but two others fled on foot.
Deputies initiated a K-9 track and caught one of the suspects, but the other, described as a black man in his mid to late teens, is still at large. No other details on the remaining suspect have been released.
The suspects face several charges, including breaking and entering, fleeing and eluding, and resisting and obstructing. This incident is still under investigation.
