HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Allegan County’s annual Electronics and Household Hazardous Waste collection event, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2020, is rescheduled for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 24, 2020.
This will be at the Harding’s Market parking lot in Wayland.
The change is dates is the result of social distancing being difficult to maintain at this event.
The county’s announcement, emailed to media, indicated that the health and safety of residents, vendors, volunteers, and public safety officers participating are top priorities.
Residents participating in Allegan County’s Resource Recovery Program should continue to safely store materials until they can be properly recycled, according to the notice.
County officials appeal to people to wait until Oct. 24 to bring items to Harding’s Market for collection.
Allegan County Resource Recovery Program officials said they “work hard to maintain positive relationships with host sites and municipalities” to continue providing residents with recycling events.
