PARK TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – A body was recovered from the waters near Holland State Park on Thursday night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant J. Douglas, deputies were dispatched to the north pier just before 8 PM on a report of a body found in the rocks. It was located in a small 12 inch-by-12 inch hole, “pinned beneath the surface of the water by several large boulders,” Douglas said.
It took first responders several hours of moving those boulders before they could remove the body and take it to Spectrum-Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids for an autopsy. No identification or any description was immediately disclosed.
The incident remains under investigation.
