GVSU officials updated their initial COVID-19 response on Tuesday with a campus wide statement. Vice President of University Relations Matt McLogan stated that students will continue with remote learning initiatives through the end of the semester:
“For the rest of this Winter semester, our students will remain on remote learning. We have recommended that those students who are still remaining in campus housing, should leave for their permanent residence, and we are working with them now on an orderly way to check out of campus housing.”
With a large majority of on-campus student housing closing for the remainder of the semester, officials from the university noted that they are not forgetting about students who have highly exceptional student needs:
“We will work with those students on an individual basis and continue to accommodate them for the rest of the semester.”
