HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating he report of a suspicious person who attempted to pick up two children who’d been walking on Main Street near East Street in Coopersville.
The middle school-aged boys told deputies that they were walking home from church when a man they do not know pulled up next to them in his car and offered them a ride home.
The man told the kids to get in his car; the boys ran from the suspect and called 911.
They described him to police as a white male in his 40’s, with shoulder-length brown wavy hair and a large brown beard. He has red and black tattoos on his hand and forearm, and he was wearing a plaid shirt.
The boys told police he was in a silver 4-door sedan, with a black stripe along the lower portion of the sides — last seen westbound on Main Street in Coopersville.
