HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga R-Zeeland, will host a telephone town hall discussion on the coronavirus outbreak called COVID-19 at 7:15 p.m. today, March 11, 2020, for residents across West Michigan’s Second District.
He voted for emergency bills last week to help states and individual communities prepare for the challenges presented by this virus, as the number of cases are expected to rise.
In addition to COVID-19 questions, Rep. Huizenga will also take questions on other topics.
Approximately 40,000 Second District residents will be able to join this telephone town hall, which will also be livestreamed at Huizenga.House.Gov/Live so anyone can listen in. Signing up for the call requires a name, a U.S. phone number, and an email address. Sign up at Huizenga.House.Gov/Live.
Huizenga announced the call via Facebook yesterday. Responses so far range from requests for an in-person town hall to requests for more public health support. Some asked Huizenga to comment on a recent statement by President Donald Trump that the coronavirus outbreak is a hoax.
