HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Plainwell resident Spencer Evan Baird, 36, has been arraigned in Allegan County District Court on one count of a moving violation causing death in a Jan. 6, 2020, fatal crash.
The crash killed Martin resident Sheila Gay Rackley, 55, who was working at that time for the U.S. Postal Service when the crash happened on 10th Street, south of Carrie Avenue in Gun Plains Township.
The impact of the Baird’s pickup truck destroyed the Postal Service vehicle, said Allegan Sheriff’s Capt. Chris Kuhn, in a statement emailed to media.
Baird had been wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured in the crash.
