Ida May Valentine, 64 of Fennville, Michigan, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at her home. Born July 27, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was the daughter of late John and Martha (McElyea) Skaggs and the wife of Frank Valentine. Ida was a loving and wonderful woman and especially enjoyed looking after those less fortunate children, sharing her caring nature. She volunteered her time at the Fennville Public School to assist the staff and children. Those close to her knew how much she loved spending time with her family and being a part of their lives. The light she shone to others will continue to shine through her memory.
Those left to treasure their memories of Ida are her husband, Frank; her children, Martha (Jason) Ras, Huey (Kelsey) Valentine and Eric (Samantha) Valentine; her siblings, Anna Skaggs, Cathy Skaggs, Brenda Skaggs, Diane Valentine, Loretta (Jim) Brown, Rhonda (Randy) Poortvliet and Nicky Skaggs; and five grandchildren. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dale Valentine and her grandson, Cody Valentine.
Memorial donations may be made to the family in care of Martha Ras (5085 124th Avenue, Fennville, MI 49408). The family has chosen to have a private service. Chappell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
