David Albert Wendt, age 78, of Holland, unexpectedly passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at his home.
David retired from Haworth, Inc. in 2000 after which he worked part-time at Sevens Paint. He was a morning regular at Bob Evans as well as an avid Blackjack player. Prior to moving to Holland, David was active in the Hastings Jaycees where he met and made many lifelong friends; some of whom would join David on their annual fishing trips to Drummond Island.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Marion, in 1997, and his sister, Shirley Jean Cook.
David is survived by his children, Russell Wendt of Plymouth, IN, Jennifer Wendt of Spring Lake, Pamela (Steven) Smale of Kentwood, Mark (Tamera) Wendt of South Bend, IN; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Ackley of Richland, Carolyn Sue (Jack) Steeby of Battle Creek; brother-in-law, Dennis Cook of California.
Funeral services are planned for 11:00 am Saturday, Feb 8, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00-8:00pm Friday, February 7 also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be left online at
