In the late afternoon of January 30th, 2020, Micheal C. Lyons passed away in the comfort of his home. Mike graduated from Portage High School, and soon after he enlisted into the United States Army. Mike was a code interpreter while serving in Japan for 2 years, but served for 3 years. Mike married Connie Lyons in 1964 and were married for 55 years. He graduated from Western Michigan University and took a position with the American National Bank. Mike and Connie raised two sons together, Tom and John Lyons. Mike was then transferred to American National Bank in South Haven, and purchased a fruit farm. Two years later Mike went into full time farming. He retired in 2006 and enjoyed retirement with his family. He was then diagnosed with scleroderma in 2015, however that didn’t stop him from enjoying life.
Mike is survived by his wife Connie, sister Karen Baker (Peter Baker), his sons Tom Lyons (Kelly Lyons) and John Lyons (Daniella Lyons) and his five granddaughters – Alexandra, Frances, Grace, Sarah, and Stella.
Mike was 80 years old.
