HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Calvin University’s January Series continues today with Karen Gonzalez as the featured speaker.
She’s a writer, and immigrant advocate, who herself immigrated from Guatemala as a child. The former public school teacher attended Fuller Theological Seminary, studying theology and missiology. For the last 10 years, she’s worked for World Relief, a Baltimore-based organization serving immigrants and refugees.
She her book, The God Who Sees: Immigrants, The Bible, and the Journey to Belong (Herald Press, May 2019), includes her own and others’ experiences as immigrants.
She’s also written for Sojourners, Christianity Today, The Christian Century, Christ and Pop Culture, and others.
