Dick B. Yskes age 83, of Holland, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 17, 2020.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in 2015.
Dick was a member of Graafschap Christian Reformed Church and was a veteran of the Army serving from 1959-1962. He taught middle school in Benton Harbor, Kent City and spent most of his career at Holland Public Schools retiring in 1996. He enjoyed nothing more than embellishing a good story and volunteered for CRWRC now World Renew.
He is survived by his children, Paul and Elaine Yskes of St. Joseph, Coralyn and Raymond Elsey of Richland, Margaret and Jeffery Kooi of Grand Rapids; 18 Grandchildren, 6 Great grandchildren; brother, David and Janet Yskes of Holland; sister-in-law, Nancy Kolenbrander of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Graafschap Christian Reformed Church, 5973 Church St. Holland, with Rev. Philip D. Kok officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours are scheduled for 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 20, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E 16th St., Holland.
