HOLLAND (WTHC–AM/FM) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett has messaged the media to say two unrelated searches continue on Monday, Jan. 13, 2020.
“Today, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, assisted by teams from MSP, Kent Co Sheriff’s Office and Allegan Co Sheriff Office are searching areas of water around the Lake Michigan Pier at the Holland Channel for missing Eliza Trainer,” Bennett wrote.
The 16-year-old girl was swept off the pier on New Year’s Day. Bennett said the current weather provides “a window of opportunity” for this search.
On Friday, Jan. 10, members of the Ottawa Co Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, with help from the Michigan State Police, searched the Grand River area near Eastmanville for missing Hunter Klompstra. Nothing was located in that operation and the efforts will continue.
