WASHINGTON (WHTC-AM/FM) – There has been no holiday from impeachment talk, even though lawmakers are far away from Washington right now.
President Trump questioned on Twitter why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi should be able to impeach him, for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, when Democrats only have a slight majority in the House, and he also blamed Dems for trying to “run” the Republican-majority Senate by delaying the sending the articles of impeachment. That tactic is also confounding to five-term GOP Congressman Bill Huizenga of Zeeland, who claims this country’s forefathers couldn’t have seen this coming.
“They never contemplated the House of Representatives going through this excruciating process (of) impeaching a President, and then deciding to not send (the articles) over to the Senate for a trial,” Huizenga said last week on “WHTC Morning News.” “Talk about a dereliction of duty constitutionally … this is just bewildering.”
There has been no sign as to when those articles will be sent to the Upper Chamber.
