HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A group of people are planning to attend Wednesday’s Holland City Council meeting to ask if the board will consider changing the city’s non-discrimination ordinance to include people who are lesbian, bisexual gay, transgender, intersex or asexual.
Holland is Ready, Holland Pride, Out on the Lakeshore and others are making social media posts and organizing to make the appeal to have the ordinance include sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and that employment protections be added for the various groups listed.
Their goal is to see a proposed amendment to the ordinance put before city council by March.
Holland City Council is set to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at Holland City Hall, 270 S. River Avenue. The meeting’s full agenda is online.
