HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Ottawa County Central Dispatch Authority officials are investigating why a 911 call from an accused murderer Kenneth Boone never made it to sheriff’s deputies.
Boone is charged with murder for allegedly beating his father, James Boone, to death on Dec. 1, 2019.
Deputies were sent to the Boones’ Spring Lake Township home after Kenneth Boone called 911 a second time, about an hour later, this time telling dispatchers he’d hurt his father. When he’d called at about 6:15 a.m., police believe his father was still alive, according to dispatch officials.
Investigators are looking into whether dispatchers used the proper protocol with the first call.
