HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The suspect in a Spring Lake Township murder on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, has been arraigned. Kenneth John Boone, 25, was charged with one count of open murder and as a fourth-time habitual offender on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019, and bond was denied.
He’s accused in the beating death of his father, Spring Lake Township resident James Kenneth Boone, 64.
Kenneth Boone was released from prison in February this year, after nearly two years behind bars for the use of a motor vehicle without intent to steal it. He has been in prison off and on since 2012, when he was sentenced in Ottawa County for two counts of aggravated indecent exposure. He has been a registered sex offender since 2012, according to state prison records.
Boone’s last address on state records is the same as his later father’s.
