HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — It’s been nine years since the three young Skelton brothers, Andrew, 9; Alexander, 7 and Tanner, 5, were last seen.
Residents in their hometown, Morenci, MI — a small town by the Michigan-Ohio border — haven’t forgotten, holding a vigil to mark the anniversary of their disappearance on Nov. 26, 2010.
The boys were last with their father, John Russell Skelton, now 48, and reported missing on on Nov, 26, 2010.
Authorities charged John Skelton with three counts of unlawful imprisonment; he entered no-contest pleas and has been in Michigan’s prison system since Sept. 15, 2011. He could be paroled as early as Nov. 29, 2020, according to state records. He initially claimed he gave the boys to a group — which he didn’t define — to keep them safe, but has since changed his story and eventually told authorities he didn’t know what happened to them.
The case and has said he gave his sons to “a group” to keep them safe, but later changed his story.
In 2018, remains of three children found in Missoula, MT, appeared to be the boys’ but were later ruled out.
