HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police in Ottawa County are asking for help identifying a suspect who shot at multiple teenagers.
It happened around 8:45 P.M. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at the intersection of River and Douglas avenues in Holland Township.
A car with several teens inside was stopped by another vehicle, and someone from the shooting suspect’s car fired a gun multiple times at the driver and passengers, injuring one.
Witnesses told police the suspect’s vehicle appeared to be an early-2000’s tan sedan with tinted windows.
A 17-year-old who was in the front passenger seat went to Holland Hospital with what police described as non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Police say the teen was likely saved from serious injuries because the bullet that hit them was slowed by their cell phone.
None of the other teenagers involved were reportedly injured in the exchange.
A motive for the shooting incident has not yet been established and no suspect information has been released.
Anyone with information is urged by police to call Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT.
