HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — WHTC will broadcast Holland High School’s 82nd annual Veterans Day Observance live from the Dutch Dome, starting at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, 2019.
Retired U.S. Army National Guard Sgt. Michael Tate will keynote the event.
This annual memorial tribute is free and open to the public. Military veterans, their family, and friends are invited to the high school’s cafeteria at 9 a.m. today for refreshments and fellowship.
Veterans Day means all non-essential federal government offices are closed, as are banks and credit unions. The U.S. Postal Service won’t be delivering the mail.
Veterans Day, formerly known as Armistice Day, was started 100 years ago this year, and is a federal holiday observed annually on Nov. 11, honoring people who have served in the United States military.
