HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The Gun Lake Tribe and Gun Lake Casino donated toward Allegan County’s purchase of the Sheriff’s Office’s new K-9, Thor.
The 1-year-old sable German Shepherd came from Lucas K-9 in Poland, with blood lines from the Czech Republic, according to the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office Facebook announcement.
Thor and his handler, Deputy Ben Haas, recently completed a five-week training course at Mid Michigan Police K-9 in Eaton Rapids.
Thor is a multi-purpose canine, trained in narcotics detection, tracking, building searches, article searching, and handler protection.
