Roger Vanden Bosch, age 90, of Zeeland, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Zeeland Hospital.
Roger was a charter member of Community Reformed Church where he served on various committees including as an Elder, Deacon, Treasurer and Vice-President of Consistory.
His work life included Parts Supervisor at John Kole Garage, General Electric and jobs at the pool hall and insurance sales. He knew everyone in town from these various jobs and amazed people with his knowledge of the people of Zeeland and their family genealogies. He also enjoyed traveling and above all he loved his family and his Lord.
Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Warren Vanden Bosch; and in-laws, Marvin Warners, Fritz Berkenpas, Carolyn Berkenpas, Kurt Student and Jan Kinser.
Roger is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Vanden Bosch; children, Steve Vanden Bosch of Holland, Shelley (Wayne) Rumsey of Zeeland; grandchildren, Katelyn Rumsey of New York, New York, Tyler Rumsey of Zeeland; sister, Norma Student of Grand Rapids; in-laws, Martin Kinser of Washington, Betty (Warners) Berkenpas of Byron Center; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are planned for 1:30 Monday, November 4, at Community Reformed Church, 10376 Felch St., Zeeland, with Rev. Greg Ten Brink officiating. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, November 3, also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Bibles for India.
