HOLLAND (WTHC-AM/FM) — Seven-time Grammy winner and hall-of-famer Gladys Knight, whose music has topped charts in pop, gospel, R&B and adult contemporary categories, will headline the 91st Tulip Time Festival.
Among her most-famous songs: “I Heard it Through the Grapevine,” “If I Were Your Woman,” “Neither One of Us (Wants to be the First to Say Goodbye),” “Best Thing to Ever Happen to Me,” and the #1 hit “Midnight Train to Georgia.
In 1995, Knight earned her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the next year, Gladys Knight & The Pips were inducted into the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Gladys Knight and The Pips were presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 1998, and in 2004, Knight received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual BET Awards ceremony.
Her show is set for 7-8 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2020, at Central Wesleyan. Tickets for rows 1 through 12 cost $90 each and general admission costs $75.
