HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — Holland Department of Public Safety officials have announced their Reserve Officer of the Year: Murray Williams.
His peers nominated Williams, lauding him for professionalism, dedication, consistency, and relating well to others.
Williams has been a reserve office for 10 years and, Holland police officials said in a statement emailed to media, “has consistently taken on above average number of details, including working every Street Performers event for the entire season. He is known to relate extremely well to the public, and is always looking to better himself and the reserve unit as a whole.”
Reserves assist with many functions such as parades, sporting events, parks patrol, community events in the parks and downtown, subpoena service, traffic control and prisoner watches, in addition to riding with full-time officers on a monthly basis, to keep their policing skills sharp.
