MIDDLEVILLE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Gun Lake-area pizzeria may close its doors after being given an electric bill for almost $20,000.
Mitten Pizza LLC, based out of Middleville, says that their power provider Great Lakes Energy had not been reading a second meter on the property over the last few years.
Once the company realized its mistake, it charged Mitten Pizza the correct difference, which totaled out to $19,795.74.
The shop needs to scrape up the funds for the bill by Tuesday, Oct. 1st to stay open.
Citizens have put together a GoFundMe page to help pay the balance due. At this time, the fundraiser has received over $1,500.
Mitten Pizza will close in November if it is unable to pay the bill.
