HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — The jury’s verdict is guilty, according to WOOD-TV, in the trial of former Holland resident Jared Chance, charged with second-degree murder for the death of Ashley Young of Oshtemo.
The jury delivered a guilty verdict for Chance, 30, on charges of mutilation of a body, concealing a death, and three counts of tampering with evidence.
Chance did not testify; his defense attorney posited police had zero evidence that Chance killed Young.
Chance rejected a plea deal Monday, which offered a sentence shorter than life-without-parole sentence in exchange for a full confession. Authorities haven’t yet recovered all of Ms. Young’s remains.
