HOLLAND (WHTC-AM/FM) — A Spring Lake Township crash has left Muskegon resident Jennylynn Carletto, 60, dead, according to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Buter.
The crash happened at 1:12 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2019, on 148th Avenue near Lori Lane, between State and Kelly streets, and involved two vehicles, according to Buter.
Police found a near-head-on crash that ended with the two vehicles coming to rest nearly a city block apart. Police found a 28-year-old Spring Lake man had been speeding south on 148th Avenue in his 2003 Dodge pick up. Hs truck crossed the center line hitting a 2009 Ford Escape, with Jennylynn Carletto at the wheel. She was pinned in her car and died at the scene.After the crash, the pick up continued driving, nearly a city block south, and came to rest in a front yard of a nearby home.
The Spring Lake man wasn’t injured, but went to North Ottawa Community Hospital by ambulance, where he was medically cleared. His name is being withheld, pending the completed investigation.
The road was closed until 4 p.m. for the safety of crash investigators and other emergency responders.Spring Lake Fire/Rescue and North Ottawa Community Hospital ambulance EMTs assisted at the scene.
